(More customer reviews)My son gave me the RGT for my birthday.He likes his Logitech Momo but was unable to find one for me at a decent price.

The RGT wheel and pedals are well constructed and function properly, for the most part.The driver setup went so fast I thought something was wrong, so I did it again.You need to understand that "Control Panel" means the ThrustMaster Control Panel, not Windows'.The device driver for Win7 64-bit is in beta.The Test Effects section does not work.Watch out when you power up the wheel.It WILL immediately rotate lock-to-lock with all of its considerable force.

Response of the wheel in Live for Speed and iRacing is immediate and accurate.My main beef is the notchiness that the force feedback motor provides.It distracts from the precision driving experience.By fiddling with the "Control Panel" and game Controller settings, I was able to minimize that effect.

My old wheel is a Traxxas Free Wheel Racing Controller.It looks like an RC car transmitter.Actually, it's a PC game port version of their RC car wheel with nothing in the antenna hole.It is extremely quick and accurate for steering, throttle/brake and shifting but lacks other buttons and hat features.Also, I found no game ports that support Win7 64-bit.My times with the RGT are still worse than my times with the Traxxas.

My only other complaint with the RGT is that the pedals are pretty close together for my big feet.The clutch and shifter add a nice touch of realism to the games.However, if you forget to clutch when you stop, the engine goes to idle anyway rather than stalling.That may be a function of the games rather than the controller.I have not tried the analog paddles for throttle and brake yet.

Finally, the clamp seems strong enough but the wheel wobbled slightly forward and back when tightened down on my desk top.By moving 2 of the adhesive-backed rubber feet from directly under the clamp to positions closer to the flange that fits against the edge of the desk, I completely eliminated the wobble.

(More customer reviews)Simply put, this is one of the best force feedback driving wheels in the market and you won't be disappointed on its features and performance, especially when it compares with other wheels.
I've been playing PC racing sims for some years and I own the following games: Grand Prix Legends, Mobil 1 Rally Championship, Nascar 2000, Nascar 3, Colin McRae Rally 2.0, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, Sports Car GT and many other older games.When the very first force feedback wheels came out, I rushed to buy them and the results were mostly disappointing.I have tried Microsoft FFB (mediocare), Interact (worst, IMHO), Logitech Formula Force (the older one, which is a much better one than the later model), Logitech Formula Force GP (the newer one, yet inferior, but it works with my PS2 on GT3) and the ACT-Labs Force RS (the best among all.The Ferrari wheel is definitely only 2nd to the Act-labs Force, and way way above the rest.
To sum up what I like about this wheel:
1) Very strong force feedback
2) Lots of buttons on the wheel for one-touch quick keys
3) Have both stick shift and paddle shift helps Rally-style and F1-style racing respectively
4) Precise steering
5) Good feeling steering wheel
6) Good clamp to hold it steadily onto the table
The only few things I don't like about this wheel:
1) The pedals are too close for people with big feet
2) The pedal platform is likely to skid around if put on carpet (easily fixed if it's put against a wall)
3) Too many wires connecting the wheel and the pedals and they are not the most smartly located
All in all, I think this wheel helps me decreasing my lap time significantly and immersing myself much more into the game.For example, it's just great to feel your car losing grip in a corner and eventually regain it and steer accordingly.The best thing is, you can use the on both your PC and PS2 (just a caution, it might be impossible to config the buttons in PS2 as it's not offically supported by Sony)!!!

(More customer reviews)Considering it is a fairly cheap wheel I suppose you get what you pay for;
It is sturdy but the pedals dont have a high enough resistance and IMO have too much travel in them.
The paddles are easy to reach but the other buttons are a little awkward and take some searching-for if you are in the heat of a moment.
The steering is EXTREMELY notchy, which for the game I play makes this wheel almost impossible to use with certain high powered rear wheel cars that are extremely sensitive to slight movements.

(More customer reviews)First of all, I have had no problems getting this wheel to work as it is evidently supposed to.The problems some are having with this might stem from the fact that the gas and brake pedals are designed in an odd way.The problem with these pedals is that when you press the gas it is the equivalent of pressing the x button on the controller.Since the gas is not usually placed on that button by default, the gas and brake pedals will not do what you are intending them to do, unless you can change the controller configuration to put the gas on the x button.The brake works in a similar way.The problem that results from this is that many assume that when you hold the gas pedal down farther, it will result in more power coming from the engine.The truth is that since the designers made it so that the gas pedal triggers the x button, the gas is either on or off.This is the reason why the gas is usually placed on the left or right trigger buttons that do have the ability to have more levels of power than on or off.Now I am not sure if there is a game that could actually work with this wheel to do more than just turn the gas on or off, but my guess is that you are probably stuck with out being able to use the gas pedal anything like a real one.One other problem comes from the fact that some driving games are not equipped to change the controller configuration enough to use this wheel properly.If you are playing a game that cannot radically alter its controller scheme, then you probably will be stuck using the gray triggers underneath the steering wheel to slow down and speed up.That is very inconvenient.

Another problem I have with this this product is that it has a small dead zone right when you start to either turn right or left.This has the effect that when you are in a section of road with more than just a gentle turn, you will have to do a good amount of correction to overcome the dead spot where it does not respond. Racing games require smooth subtle movements.This is especially true when the steering wheel is not designed with the 900 degrees of movement that other products have.The dead spot right in the middle is just enough to throw off the controls so that smooth steering is not possible. I am certain that this is not just a flaw with my unit.

This wheel is counterproductive.It does work at what it is designed to do.The build quality is such that I am sure that it will not break in the very little that I will possibly ever use it.A traditional controller will be much easier to use.I regret that the person who gave it to me for Christmas wasted her money.

i personally purchased the wheel to play Arca Simracing 2008
the manual is simple and vague. there are adittional functions that are not explained in the manual. and for some reason when it is set up as a wheel type controller it just jerks back and forth erratically

overall i would say you can get buy with it but unless you can find results to the problems you may encounter dont waste your time

(More customer reviews)I just recieved this game about 2 weeks ago and it is so cool. The AI is just superb its really advanced. Ive been hooked on it and i must say its not for everyone its for someone who 1. loves race cars 2. loves racing games 3. someone who wants to race cars such as the Audi TT, Mclaren F1, And lemans like prototyope Bentley its really good. the cars are cool. The tracks are real world tracks. Some of its a bot wierd but its really goos u have gotta get it.
