Remote Controller & Nunchuck Bundle for Nintendo Wii Review

Remote Controller & Nunchuck Bundle for Nintendo Wii
Average Reviews:

I haven't used the nunchuck, so I can't review on that.
The Wiimote was a defective one, and it malfunctioned from the first use when I played Wii Sport Baseball game.
At bat, when I swing, it freezes and the bat won't respond to any motion then it comes back after 2,3 seconds.
Very frustrating. Don't be fooled by the same look. Inside, it is not the same thing but a cheap imitation.
I wonder if I can get refund on this.

Logitech G25 Racing Wheel Review

Logitech G25 Racing Wheel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm not an eloquent guy, and certainly not a frequent Amazon reviewer, but I just thought I'd clear up questions if anyone else is in the same boat I was (PS3 owner looking for a wheel).

I love driving sims for PS2, and thought the G25 would be a great way to get my dad to play some games too. I wasn't sure how the G25 would work with the PS3, but lo, it's flawless. Hooked up via USB, the wheel can fully mimic the function of the Driving Force Pro, so Gran Turismo and ToCA give you everything they've got. It also has a lot of future potential with the Gated gearbox and clutch-pedal that most current games don't use. The only reason you might keep a sixaxis handy is for the "home" button to quit to the XMB (ps3 OS).

"Feedback" is an understatement, as the word makes me think of the N64 rumble-pack. Most of you potential buyers are already aware of the wheel pulling you out of turns, or giving enough feedback so you know just when you're about to lose grip through a corner. But the G25 can be so subtle that it almost creates a "3D" feedback map. I'm not sure how to explain it, but when your in-game left rear tire hits a rumble strip, it feel like that specific tire has really hit a rumble strip. I have no idea how they do this with just two force motors in the G25.

In any event, the quality of the road-response is absolutely worth the price, which is already pretty decent here with free shipping. The DFP was tempting, as I've tried it on a PS2, but this wheel is much more subtle, much better looking, and will be the gold-standard for future driving games. No regrets here, just a happy father-son bonding experience and less wear on our real-world cars.

Blood: Full Uncut Version Review

Blood: Full Uncut Version
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Though it has aged, it hasnt coagulated yet. Despite the decay of the genre around it, this Blood remains fresh.

Blood is an intense first person shooter by Monolith in a horror/dark humor atmosphere. It is equally renowned for it's creativity and sadistic nature, as it is for difficulty. Blood is a game for those who love first person shooters, and thus are at least moderately skilled at them.

Boasting a morbid cast of monstrosities, Monolith's hemoglobin opus pits you against a dark cult, from which you play a cast down and sacrificed leader seeking your revenge. Swift axe wielding zombies, shotgun and tommygun wielding cultists, severed choking hands, transdimensional reapers, hell hounds, and all other manners of beast await you amidst the ravaged and bizarre landscapes you traverse as Caleb, seeking to strike down the dark god Tchernobog, your former master.

Blood innovates to a greater level in how you can kill such abominations, from the typical shotgun and machinegun (tommygun specifically) to the more creative in application, flaregun, dynamite with remote or proximity detonation, and aerosol can with lighter for a flamethrower or quick firebomb. However it takes death a step further with the technological tesla cannon, the incinerating life leech, and the sadistic assassin's favorite tool, the voodoo doll. More weapons await you in the game, but even more, Blood offered a unique dimension for the times of alternate firing modes, significantly expanding the tactical range of each device, and some could even have three functions if combined cleverly.

In Blood, you, and your opponents in singleplayer or multiplayer can be stabbed, jabbed, shot, riddled, maimed, crushed, roasted, exploded, scattered, and castrated, and it has the lush sprite artwork to indicate the misery all enjoy for the sake of others.

But where can such carnage take place? How about a funeral home, train station, an actual moving train, carnival, a variety of temples, a city undergoing a bombing campaign, hospitals, stores, deep within the woods, upon mountain peaks and moving sheets of ice, or even within the entrails of a giant creature? Blood certainly offers variety for those who seek to beget the title name.

Blood is outstanding in two aspects that have been long forgotten in some aspects by modern games. Art design and sound. Blood is an old game, on an old engine. But despite the pixellation and low resolution, it still looks good. The artwork is consistent thematically and in terms of the palette and every place works together quite well. Quite the contrast in the current trend of normal mapping uninspired photos of brick and concrete and then sampling at a high resolution.

The sound is unique for its music, effects, and detail. Blood sounds wonderful when it comes to all the attention paid to it... the smack of a zombies head when you kick it, the dripping of blood onto the ground from a freshly slain cultist, his foot still twitching. Break a window on a train and the locomotive becomes more audible when youre near the shattered glass. Combine that with deep weapon effects, howls of the damned, and play it amidst vibrato string sections and chilled pipe organs and it is a feast for the ears.

Blood is most of all, a horror tribute. It pays homage to great and obscure horror films alike through a host of references and inspired settings. It is however, as I warned, difficult for most, but it is definitely worth the romp. Blood, spill some.

A final note, this game does not function properly on Windows XP, Windows 98 is preferred, however some have had success, such as myself, emulating the game through either DOSbox or a series of patches as guided by Willis of the website deathmask. Dont let operating system differences get between you and one of the best first person shooters to hit the PC.

Product Description:
Blood is a gory 3D 1st-person shooter which is based on Ken Silverman's 'Build' engine. You'll battle cultists, gargoyles, zombies, hellhounds, and an unholy host of other terrors in your quest to stop Tchernobog. You must not only defeat the Cabal--you must scour its dread name from human memory. If that means eradicating everyone and everything the Cabal has ever tainted, so be it. Of course, you'll first have to make your way through fortresses, castles, mines, mansions, and estates guarded and kept by Tchernobog's malevolent servants. Fortunately, it is wits that make the hero, and although you're in serious danger of losing yours, you've got enough left to improvise some pretty effective tools of destruction. Aerosol hairspray can be frightening enough on its own, but apply it to a lighter flame and you've got an instant flamethrower (kids, don't try this at home!). Likewise, a flare gun can brighten your prospects considerably against even the grimmest odds, which is to say nothing for shotguns, Tommy guns, and dynamite. Who knows, you may even find that there are some spirits on your side when you find yourself clutching a voodoo doll. This is the FULL Uncut Version of the game with 42 Levels, lots of weapons, enemies and monsters. BEWARE of the Shareware versions of this game they only contain 7 levels!

Logitech MOMO Force Feedback Racing Wheel Review

Logitech MOMO Force Feedback Racing Wheel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
One of the most impressive things about this wheel is that within 10 minutes of removing it from the box, I had it installed on my computer and was using it in a game.Logitech scores again with rock solid software that is easy to install and use.
Once I started to use it, the other good parts about the wheel became apparent within a very brief amount of time.
FORM FACTOR:Compared to other force feedback wheels, this takes up a surprisingly small abount of desk real estate.Once clamped onto a desk, the unit only takes up a 7 inch by 14 inch area of space. The clamping mechanism is notable for not extending very far below the desk. This means there is less for you to bump your legs on and it makes it possible to clamp it in a wider variety of locations.
PEDALS: In my previous wheels, the pedal unit would slide all over the place on my wood floors. This unit, though has a big enough base that there is absolutely no sliding whatsover. In addition, there is a little traction device you can turn on, so that on carpet, the base will stick even more.
FORCE FEEDBACK: To set up the wheel, you can use the default Windows Game Controller set up.Force feedback can be set from 0-150% strength. For my game, Rally Trophy, I found that anything greater than 20% was too strong and I ended up using 14%.This is a sign of quality, because it indicates that the wheel has a full range of power available. The fact that at 14% power, the wheel delivered a nice range of subtle in-game effects proves to me that this wheel has been put together solidly.
This wheel met all my expectations and for me was a MAJOR step up from the little game pad I was using. It has taken me about 2 days to really get the hang of driving with it, but now that I have figured out the right settings, there is really no comparison. Before I was just goofing around with a video game. Now it feels like I am actually using an advanced driving simulator.Very cool!

Cruis'n Review

Cruis'n
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Anyone familiar with Midway's Cruis'n series in the arcades and the Nintendo 64 will find that Cruis'n for the Wii retains almost none of the fun gameplay elements that the previous games in the series possessed.Cruis'n bears little resemblance to the aforementioned games, as it features some incredibly dated graphics, a static interface, and above all, a barrage of technical issues. These technical issues range from long load times and a variety of bugs and glitches to be found among the boring and all-too similar race tracks that are featured here. What is also worth noting is that the Wii-mote controls aren't actually half-bad here and are pretty responsive overall, but they can't save Cruis'n from the fate that it's been given. All in all, Cruis'n may be worth a look or a rental for Wii owners looking for an arcade racer or fans of Midway's Cruis'n series, but everyone else can easily avoid it.
